Mirror’s Edge is back with Mirror’s Edge Catalyst

Find out the origin of Mirror's Edge protagonist, Faith, in Mirror's Edge Catalyst

The parkour-inspired, free-running adrenaline rush that is Mirror’s Edge is returning to PS4, XBox One and PC with Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The new game will go into the origins of the original game’s protagonist, Faith, to flesh out her story.

Much like the original, the main component of Catalyst will be exploration of the major city while you run and make death-defying leaps between buildings. Catalyst won’t feature any specific levels, nor loading screens, to provide a more seamless experience. Like before, combat will take place in first person. We’re secretly hoping that guns won’t play as major a role as in Mirror’s Edge.

The story will progress through a series of linked missions with the ability to explore the city at your will in between. This will give you the chance to solve puzzles and run races. Puzzles will include environmental puzzles such as hacking billboards found within the city so that they display your own runner tag and also upset the Orwellian powers that control the city.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is being developed with EA’s Frostbite engine. Expect to see Catalyst on February 23rd, 2016. The E3 announcement trailer can be watched below:
