Deus Ex: Mankind Divided E3 gameplay trailer revealed

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Eidos Montreal and Square Enix show off the latest Deus Ex title at E3 2015, confirming release date for sometime in early 2016

Originally announced back in April, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have finally shown off the first gameplay trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at E3 2015.

Set two years after the events of Human Revolution, Mankind Divided tells a story where augmented humans have become outcasts. Described by Eidos Montreal as “a mechanical apartheid”, augments are being herded into segregated slums, with some even being branded as terrorists. Luckily, returning hero Adam Jensen has escaped the slums and is working alongside Taskforce 29 to help put a end to a growing Illuminati conspiracy.

Powered by Eidos’ Dawn Engine, Mankind Divided’s story will morph around your in-game choices, and the way you play will change the way the game ends. You’ll have plenty of new tools in your arsenal, such as a hidden gun inside your bionic arm as well as detachable nanoblades that can now be used as deadly projectiles, but it’s up to you as to how you employ them on the battlefield.

The trailer above only shows a few snippets of gameplay, but fans of Human Revolution should feel right at home here. With lots of intense gunplay and explosions on show, this definitely gives us a taste of what the ‘brute-force’ option might look like, but we’ll have to wait and see how the game’s stealth sections play out.

As we already know, Mankind Divided won’t be the only new Deus Ex title we see this year, as Eidos Montreal will also be expanding the series into mobile games and print media titles as well. It’s still early days as to what this might entail, but we’ll no doubt know more in the coming months.

There’s no official launch date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided just yet, but Square Enix assured its audience that it will be out in early 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, while pre-orders are open right now. We’ll bring you all the latest news as it’s confirmed.
