Quick! The Mate 20 Pro is a bargain buy with 33% off

Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro is a lot more palatable when priced under £600

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is one of the best phones that money can buy. But with an RRP of £900, I can’t say I blame you for hesitating.

That’s a pity, given the incredible strengths of the handset. Not only is this the first non-Apple handset to launch with a 7nm processor powering things (in short: more power from less battery drain), but its triple-camera array simply takes the best photographs you can get on a smartphone.

And right now you can buy the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in its stylish two-tone twilight colour for £599.95 from Argos’ Ebay outlet. Given the RRP, that’s a fairly easy sum to work out: that’s a 33% saving.

Unlike other Ebay items, this is brand new with a 12-month warranty, and Argos offers 30-day returns, if you have a change of heart. Better still, you don’t have to wait for delivery, as Argos allows you to collect in store right away using Click and Collect.

You can read our full review elsewhere on the site, but the long and short of it is that the Mate 20 Pro is a brilliant handset: “everything the P20 Pro was and more,” in fact. As a P20 Pro owner, that stings a little, but that’s smartphone ownership for you. As Jon explains: it has a faster chip, a bigger screen, a more flexible camera and a longer-lasting battery.

Indeed the only real issue is the price, as Jon acknowledged: “The question that remains is whether or not punters are going to be willing to stump up this much for a phone that doesn’t come from the stable of one of the more established names,” he wrote. “In my opinion, they absolutely should because the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is shaping up to be – with a couple of caveats here and there – a stupendously good phone.”

With £300 off, it’s hard to argue with.
