The Samsung Galaxy S10 is crazy cheap at Argos

£550 SIM-free is a fabulous deal

This morning, Argos slashed the price of the Galaxy S10e to an incredible £334.50, but it seems that’s not the end of the company’s S10-related discounts. The regular S10 flagship is now the cheapest we’ve seen it SIM-free, to boot.

Right now you can buy a 128GB Samsung Galaxy S10 in green, black or white for £549. The 512GB model is also reduced, but at £350 more expensive it’s not really worth looking at, given the cheaper model supports microSD expansion.

The S10 launched at £799 back in March, and is still one of the best Android handsets you can buy right now. If you’re wondering whether you should pay extra for the S10 over the S10e, the main differences are a bigger screen size, a higher resolution, an extra telephoto lens on the back, a bit more RAM and an in-screen fingerprint reader.

Everything else is pretty much the same, and in benchmarks there’s basically nothing between the two, as both are powered by the Exynos 9820 processor. They both have wireless charging, expandable memory and a headphone jack. In short, both are great phones.

In his review, Nathan described the S10 as representing “the very pinnacle of smartphone technology.” He continued: “It moves things on in design, drawing level with Apple in terms of pure aesthetics, while simultaneously introducing a wealth of welcome new additions.”

The only sticking point was the £799 price of entry. “This is a heck of a lot of money to pay for any smartphone, no matter how impressive it may be, but it’s absolutely worth the upgrade. This is Samsung’s biggest leap forward in years,” Nathan concluded.

Now it’s £550, you can enjoy that leap forwards yourself, without having to feel so guilty about the financial strain.
