When it comes to the best mattress deals, the online bed-in-a-box market is a bit of a Wild West. As well as offering lengthy trial periods (some as long as a full year), brands such as Emma, Nectar and Otty slash their prices so frequently that you rarely ever need to pay full price.
As well as reviewing bedding and the occasional mattress, I’ve been scrutinising the bed-in-a-box market for the best part of six years. I’ve spent enough time watching the mattress deals cycle to notice certain patterns and, for the most part, it’s still true that the best discounts are to be had during peak deals seasons such as Black Friday.
Our experts have tested and reviewed around 70 mattresses, from all-foam models and bed-in-a-box hybrids to premium made-to-order mattresses. Out of the best of these, I’ve picked out some standout Black Friday deals and collected them into the roundup below.

The best mattress deals this Black Friday
1. Simba: A rare saving on one of our favourite hybrid mattresses
Over the past year, discounts from Simba have become a less common sight, perhaps as a result of the CMA’s investigation into misleading pricing. But in Amazon’s Black Friday sale, you can save on a number of the brand’s hybrid mattresses.
The Hybrid Pro, for instance, is one of our favourite hybrid mattresses. Constructed from layers of memory foam, pocket springs and wool, it’s comfortable, cool and supportive. At its full price, a king size will cost you £1,299, but it’s currently £948 on Amazon.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to avoid ordering from Amazon, you might be pleased to hear that Simba is offering freebies to customers who order directly from its site. A king size Hybrid Pro will also bag you two Hybrid pillows, Hybrid duvet and mattress protector at no extra cost.
2. Premier Inn: 10% off our ‘Mattress of the Year’
We crowned the Silentnight Premier Inn 2.0 the Best Mattress in our most recent Sleep Awards. If you’ve recently stayed in a Premier Inn anywhere in the UK, then you’ll already have slept on this mattress. In my full review, I found it comfortable, supportive and perhaps best suited to those who prefer a firmer feel.
It’s reasonably priced too, at the full price of £799 (king size). For Black Friday, however, you can get it for £719. You’ll get two free firm Silentnight Luxury Pillows too.
3. Origin: The best budget mattress, now even cheaper
Origin is another bed-in-a-box mattress brand that regularly runs promotional sales on its website. Nevertheless, this Black Friday deal is worth considering.
In our best mattress roundup, the brand’s Hybrid mattress is our budget pick. Our reviewer found that it offers “an excellent balance between soft comfort and firm support”, while doing a good job of curbing joint pain – all at the reasonable price of around £554 in a king size. Right now, though, you can get a king size Origin Hybrid for £410. You’ll also get a free AirSoft Microfibre pillow included in the deal.
