Denon launches new AV receivers and sound bar

Latest home cinema hardware provides networked audio streaming, 4K upscaling and multi-room sound and vision

In addition to the updated range of AV receivers, Denon has also announced its DHT-T100 “soundbase”, a deep sound-bar styled speaker that’s built to bear a load of up to 27kg so that even the largest and heaviest of LCD TVs will be able to sit securely on top of it. You can also use it as a wireless speaker for your mobile devices thanks to its support for Bluetooth audio, including the high-quality aptX codec. We got an early listen to the soundbase, which uses audio processing to create a virtual surround sound environment, and were impressed by its surprisingly rich tones, with very respectable bass reproduction on live music recordings. We were surprised by the absence of an HDMI input but it has a good range of digital and analogue audio inputs.
