The GoPro Hero 7 Black is cheaper than ever right now
A total steal on a cracking action camera
Adventurous types, rejoice: the GoPro Hero 7 Black is currently cheaper than ever on AO. It currently costs £249, which is a hefty £130 less than the RRP, and roughly £3 cheaper than the closest retailer.
It’s nearly Black Friday, which means there’s never been a better time to finally pull the trigger on the action camera of your dreams. The GoPro Hero 7 Black could well be that camera. We awarded it five stars in our review, and gave it an official Recommended award to boot; our reviewer called it “the best action camera on the market” in 2018, and that statement still holds up well today.
Our review lavished particular praise on the Hero 7’s excellent HDR photo quality, novel HyperSmooth video stabilisation (for when the road becomes a trail) and impressive waterproofing. At the time, GoPro reckoned they had mastered “gimbal-like stabilisation without the gimbal.” We agreed.
Obviously, the Hero 7 has since been replaced by the GoPro Hero 8 Black, which we love in equal measure – we awarded it a Best Buy, and described it as “the king of action cameras.” That said, the Hero 8 is currently an extortionate £368 on Amazon: to be frank, the Hero 7 offers much of what the 8 offers, and right now, it does so at a fraction of the price.
Better yet, the Hero 7 is compatible with older cases, which means owners of existing GoPro products can upgrade without paying extra for a full set of new kit. Small changes to the design aside, the Hero 8 simply offers a broader set of photo and video options, including advanced versions of the HyperSmooth stabilisation and TimeWarp time-lapse modes.
This offer isn’t specifically labelled as a Black Friday deal, which honestly just makes it less predictable. As such, you might want to hurry: we have no idea how long this tasty offer will last.
