Here at Expert Reviews, we’ve been closely following Amazon’s Spring Deal Days sale (10-16 March), analysing deals based on a product’s 180-day average price rather than taking discounts at face value.
We’re used to seeing decent offers on air fryers during deals events such as Black Friday and Prime Day, and we’ve picked out some noteworthy offers this week too. Meal deals, if you will.
Instant Pot’s Vortex air fryer, for instance, is currently priced at £50: that’s a £32 reduction on its average Amazon price of £82.
What did we think of the Instant Pot Vortex air fryer?
The Vortex is a compact air fryer that’s ideal for single households or smaller families. It measures just 26.7 x 34.8 x 27.9cm (WDH) and offers 5l of cooking capacity in its single drawer: plenty of space for rustling up some quick frozen snacks, such as hash browns or chips.
In our full-length review, we gave the Instant Pot Vortex five stars and an Expert Reviews Recommended award. It’s easy to use and look after, with dishwasher-safe parts.
The real standout feature is the Vortex’s odour filters, which do a good job of eliminating greasy smells.
What cooking features does it have?
The Instant Pot Vortex has just four presets – air fry, bake, reheat and dehydrate – which is quite minimal compared to the Vortex Plus Dual Drawer model. You’ve got a temperature range between 40°C and 205°C to play with: at the top end of this scale, you can air fry for up to an hour (adjustable in minute increments), while its lower temperature setting allows you to dehydrate for up to 70 hours.
You can also save up to four custom time/temperature settings: a convenience that forgives the minimal choice of presets.
Is this deal actually any good?
If you’re looking to dip your toes into the world of air frying but would prefer to avoid false economies with an obscure bargain-basement option, this is a fantastic deal.
As far as Amazon pricing goes, the Instant Pot Vortex air fryer has been cheaper than this, but not by much. It’s never dropped lower than £47, which was its price during Black Friday last year. Furthermore, it’s not been this cheap since then either. So there’s a good chance that if you don’t snap up the saving now, you might be waiting a little while before it gets such a significant discount.
On the other hand, if you need more capacity and you’ve got a bit more to spend, check out this deal on Ninja’s Foodi Max Dual Zone air fryer (down to £171 from an average price of £227).
