Argos has responded to the Amazon Spring Sale event with the best possible retort: a rare discount on a Dyson cordless vacuum. The Dyson V10 Absolute is currently £380, which isn’t a deal in itself; but add the code SPRING20 at checkout and you’ll knock 20% off the total.
That takes the price down to a frankly astonishing £304, which is an unbelievable price for one of Dyson’s best older cordless vacuums.
Is the Dyson V10 Absolute powerful?
Power is Dyson’s strong suit. In our full Dyson V10 review, our Head of Reviews Jonathan Bray compared the V10 to the excellent Dyson V8 and found that even on its weakest setting, it was better at picking up our sample matter than its predecessor on carpet and hard floors. He felt no need to increase the suction power beyond its lowest setting – and there are three to choose from.
Is the battery life good?
The Dyson V10 Absolute offers an hour of usage on its lowest setting, which – as an owner of the V10 – I can confidently say is more than enough for a deep clean of the house. Even the modern Dyson V15 Absolute can’t match that: we recorded 50 minutes of runtime on its lowest Economy setting. You’ll get half an hour of runtime from the Dyson V10 Absolute on its second setting, and a rather paltry five minutes at maximum power. Reserve that setting for particularly stubborn nooks and crannies.
What attachments does it come with?
The Dyson V10 Absolute sits in the middle of the Dyson V10 range. At the lower end you have the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal – this comes with the large Direct-drive head plus a Crevice tool, Combination tool, Mini-motorised tool and additional Mini soft dusting brush.
The Absolute comes with all of that plus a Soft roller head for hard surfaces. In our V10 review, we named the Absolute the best-value of the bunch – the high-end V10 Total Clean bundles in an extension tube and an Up-top tool for hard-to-reach areas, but it’s also more expensive (and, alas, not on offer at the time of writing). Of course, we named the Absolute the best-value of the trio at its RRP of £400, which hopefully indicates just how sensational this discount is.
This deal is live at Argos until 17 March, so don’t delay.
