The 2018 Macbook Pro is over £200 off after this price slash

Not the newest model, but still worth your cash
John Lewis has started their spring cleaning early, giving you the chance to get a 2018 MacBook Pro 13in for just £1,300 down from £1,569, a hefty saving of £269.
It’s a cracking discount on Apple’s premium laptop range, which rarely dips in price for any reason whatsoever.
This is last year’s Macbook model, which Victoria Woollaston gave a 4-star review in her review. She praised the “great screen and fabulous build quality” adding: “If it’s sheer grunt you want in a 13-inch laptop, however, the MacBook Pro is hard to match.”
The biggest black mark against the 2018 Macbook Pro was its price, so this discount will be welcome, letting you get your hands on the more premium
The MacBook’s Retina Display is excellent, delivering 500 nits of brightness, deep blacks, bright whites and vivid colours. This all sounds very technical but basically, It’s a great screen no matter which way you look at it, and it’s one of the best aspects of the Pro.
Elsewhere, there’s a touch bar at the top of the keyboard in place of the function keys. This can allow you to change volume or brightness, but as the bar is context-sensitive, you can also use it to browse through content, fiddle with text or even sling emojis about the place.
Then there are premium features like a 256GB solid-state drive, a force touch trackpad with multi-touch gestures and a solid aluminium chassis. For the longest time, MacBook Pros were the laptops to beat. This 2018 model isn’t quite that strong, but it’s hard to fault the quality on offer here, and at this price, it’s a solid purchase.
Personally, I’m a fan of Apple’s True Tone tech, which tracks the colour temperature of the light in the room you’re in and match the screen’s white point to it, so your eyes don’t go all screwy. This is bad for professionals or anyone working with colour-critical work, but it’s okay: you can turn it off.
