GoPro Hero 8 Black drops to its lowest price EVER

Skip Amazon’s Spring Sale, this is the best GoPro deal around

Capably specced and affordably priced, the Hero 8 Black is the go-to option for those seeking a no-nonsense GoPro action camera – and it’s cheaper than ever. Sitting at the entry-end of GoPro’s current action camera lineup, the Hero 8 Black can ordinarily be picked up for around £280, but right now GoPro is blowing them out for just £200 bundled with a 12-month GoPro subscription.

The Hero 8 Black may sit at the more attainable end of GoPro’s action cam roster but it certainly doesn’t go wanting for specs. It supports 4K recording at up to a smooth 60fps, while Full HD clips can run as high as 240fps for slick slow-motion recordings. The camera also offers timelapse and time warp modes, and GoPro’s HyperSmooth 2.0 image stabilisation is on hand to keep your recordings nice and steady. Like all of GoPro’s current crop of Hero cameras, the 8 Black is waterproof to 10m straight out of the box and it has built-in mounting prongs, enabling you to pair it with an incredible variety of stands, grips and mounts.

The camera picked up our highest award back when we first reviewed it and, while it may miss out on the dual-displays and 5K recording capabilities of GoPro’s newer (and more expensive) Hero 11 Black, for most people, the Hero 8 Black is all the action camera you’re likely to need.

Prices for the Hero 8 Black tend to be around the £280 mark, indeed, the next best price available is over on Amazon where it’ll currently set you back £280. GoPro’s sale price of just £200 undercuts every other online retailer (and even a fair few refurbished listings) making this a bona fide bargain.

We praised this tiny action camera’s unique built-in mounting system, superior video stabilisation and new timelapse features in our full-length GoPro Hero 8 Black review. In fact, we only had two criticisms to level at the Hero 8 at the time: the first being that it won’t fit older cases; and the second, that it was little on the pricey side. This deal takes care of that second complaint nicely.

For £200, the GoPro Hero 8 Black also comes bundled with a 12-month GoPro subscription. The subscription unlocks extra features in GoPro’s smartphone app, gives you access to unlimited cloud storage for your footage and entitles you to up to a 50% discount on accessories bought in the GoPro store. The subscription would set you back £50 bought standalone, but GoPro is currently throwing in 12-month subscriptions with all cameras bought in its official store (and you can cancel it before it renews).

GoPro states that the discounted £200 sale price is only while stocks last and overall Hero 8 Black stock has been a little patchy in recent months so this isn’t an offer you’ll want to sleep on.
