Samsung's 9000 series 3D TVs on sale in Korea

Samsung's latest flagship TV line, the 9000 series, is now available to buy - if you live in South Korea.
The high-end LED-backlit TV range, featuring an eye-catching stainless-steel frame and measuring a ridiculously slim 9.8mm, includes a proprietary 3D system based around the company's own custom processor - and even boasts the ability to automatically convert 2D content into psuedo-3D, something Samsung claims will "add a level of depth and clarity to a live football match."
According to Akihabara News, the 9000 series is also set to include WiFi connectivity with a DLNA-compatible media streamer and support for Samsung Apps, allowing users to download content from a variety of services including video streaming from Vudu, social networking from Twitter, and news from USA Today and the Associated Press.
Keeping the high-end feel going, the 9000 series includes a remote control featuring an integral touch-screen, allowing an easy interface for browsing content held on a DLNA-compatible PC without interrupting the viewing on the main display. When you've selected a video, a simple swipe will start the content playing back on the TV itself.
Although Samsung is obviously keen to emphasise the 9000 series' feature set, it hasn't ignored power draw: despite all the bells and whistles, the 9000 series has been given an Energy Star 4.0 award for energy efficiency - helped, no doubt, by the power-sipping LED backlight.
So far Samsung has made no announcement on when the 9000 series will be launched in European markets, but both the 7000 and 8000 series models have gone on sale at John Lewis.
