When I first reviewed the Asus Zenbook A14 I was blown away by how light, slim and compact it felt, and in the year and a half since I have not changed my mind. The design of this machine has since stood the test of time. It remains a top-class laptop, and it’s now been reduced to a frankly ridiculous £530. That’s its lowest price ever in the Prime Day sale 2026.
This is one of the lightest 14in laptops you can buy, weighing less than 1kg, and you barely know it’s there once you’ve popped it in your bag. Yet it can cope with most modern office workloads without breaking sweat, delivers battery life by the bucketload, and its 1080p display is a feast for the eyes.

Why is the Asus Zenbook A14 so darned good?
- It weighs less than a kilogram and yet still manages to retain a sturdy premium feel
- It’s finished with Asus’ high-end “ceraluminum” – which has a slightly rough, stone-like texture to it. It’s not paint; it’s a synthetic ceramic coating, produced through an electrochemical oxidation process
- Thanks to its Snapdragon X processor, it has impressive battery life, lasting 20hrs 20mins in our video test
- Its screen is superb: measuring 14in across the diagonal, its sharp, wonderfully vibrant and colour accurate, thanks to self-emissive OLED tech. It isn’t a touch screen, but you can’t have everything for this sort of money
- You can’t beat the amount of RAM and storage for the money, either. With prices rising exponentially for new laptops at the moment, thanks largely to AI data centres, getting 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD in a laptop this cheap is a steal
Are there any negatives to bear in mind?
- The graphics in the Snapdragon X chip aren’t the most powerful. This is not a machine you should be planning on gaming with.
- Nor are the speakers any great shakes. They sound thin and harsh without much bass.
- Finally, the webcam is a weak spot. It’s serviceable but delivers rather mushy results in low light.
What does the Asus Zenbook A14’s price history look like?
- The price of the Zenbook A14 has fallen dramatically since launch, when it was £1,100. Bear in mind it got 4/5 Recommended at that price. At the deal price of £530 it would be a 5/5 Best Buy
- Like a lot of products, however, this laptop has seen big price drops before. Not this low, perhaps, but we saw it dip as low as £600 during Black Friday 2025
- £530 is the lowest price we can remember seeing it anywhere, however. Is this a sign that it’s about to sell out? Perhaps
Are there any other deals this good this week?
- In a word, no. However, the closest rival for the Zenbook A14 at this price in terms of outright value right now is the Apple MacBook Neo, which comes in a range of attractive colours. It’s a smaller machine, though, doesn’t come with an OLED screen and battery life can’t match that of the Asus machine
