A new option in the Settings menu is the data usage monitor, which lets you see how much data you’ve used and which apps are responsible. You can even set warning levels or caps on data usage, which is great if you’re not on an unlimited data plan. The Settings menu has also been re-organised to make it more usable, moving options into Device and Personal sections.

A new People app replaces the old Contacts app, and adds more social aggregation. A new Calendar app lets other apps add events to the calendar, so for example your Facebook app could automatically post events to your Android calendar.

Camera functions have been improved, including continuous focus and zero shutter lag. You can now take a quick photo while recording a video simply by tapping the screen. Face detection is now built-in, and a new single-motion panorama mode lets you shoot a wide panoramic shot by simply panning the camera around.
