Motorola Dext review

The five-megapixel camera doesn’t have a flash, but it does include autofocus. You can manually set white balance, but it’s in an advanced options menu and not immediately accessible from the viewfinder screen. You can share photos online, although the choices of which online service to share with are duplicated by Motoblur and Android’s own built-in sharing facility, and the latter offers more options. Neither gives the option of sharing with Flickr, which is probably the most popular photo-sharing site.

Motoblur is a good attempt at social aggregation, and with more services such as Flickr and better integration it could be a strong incentive to buy a Dext. Mind you, the same could be said of Vodafone’s 360 and HTC’s Sense, and it’s too early to tell which is the best service.

For the moment, then, it’s the hardware that will win out, and unless you really want a full keyboard, the Dext just isn’t as fast or as slick-looking as HTC’s Hero.
