Amazon unveils early Prime Day Echo deals

Amazon prematurely drops Echo prices before Prime Day officially kicks off

Amazon has fired up the deals machine slightly ahead of schedule, dropping prices across its Echo range of smart home devices.

With Prime Day 2020 officially due to kick off at midnight on 13 October, keen bargain hunters can scoop up a wide range of deals a little earlier than expected – perfect for anyone hoping to jump on the smart home bandwagon without spending much money.

What’s in store this time then? First of all, the Echo Dot (3rd gen) can now be picked up for only £19, which is a considerable saving of £30 when compared against its original £50 launch price. This deal stretches out to the Echo Dot and Philips Hue bundles, too, which include an extra smart bulb for just £39 (down from £70).

Next, we have Amazon’s pair of Echo Show smart displays. Both the Echo Show 5 and EchoShow 8 have seen a £5 reduction on their usual selling prices, costing £40 and £60 respectively. This might not sound like a huge discount, but it‘s a pretty hefty saving compared to their original £80 and £120 launch prices.

If you aren’t already paying for Amazon Prime, which also includes other benefits such as next-day delivery and Prime Video streaming, then you can currently sign up to a 30-day free trial.
