Overwhelmed by the number of Shokz Prime Day headphones deals? I’ve picked out the best to save you the hassle

Having recently visited Shokz in China, I know for a fact that the bone-conduction and open-ear headphones brand has no intention of resting on its laurels after a dramatic rise to prominence over recent years. And one look at the list of Shokz Prime Day deals shows the brand means business.

It’s slashed prices across its range, with the only products not getting discounts being its flagship open-ear earhook headphones, the Shokz OpenFit Pro, and its new clip-on earbuds, the Shokz OpenDots 2 and Shokz OpenDots Air.

That still leaves you with plenty of choice if you’re shopping for a Shokz Prime Day deal. We’ve reviewed several of the headphones on offer and tried out most of the rest of them, and I’ve analysed each of the deals to select those I think offer the best value for specific use cases.

Shokz OpenFit 2+

  • 180-day average price on Amazon: £173

The OpenFit 2+ won Best Open-Ear Headphones at our Product of the Year Awards in January and are back to a joint lowest-ever price. They don’t sound quite as good as the OpenFit Pro, which were released more recently, but are the best-sounding Shokz headphones available in the Prime Day sale, and offer a great set of features to boot.

Support for Dolby Audio is the big thing that sets them apart from the cheaper OpenFit 2, but you’re also getting wireless charging. If you’re not fussed about either of those and want to save yourself some money, then the basic model, which have been reduced to £119 on Amazon, are the better shout.

Shokz OpenRun

The bone-conducting Shokz OpenRun were a Best Buy when we reviewed them, and still stand up remarkably well over four years later. The reason I’m recommending them over the OpenRun Pro 2 for outdoor pursuits is simple: they have better protection against the elements.

The OpenRun Pro 2 possess an IP55 rating that certifies them dust-protected and protected against water jets. The OpenRun’s IP67 rating means you can submerge them in water for short periods of time. This makes them much easier to clean and also means you can wear them in heavy rain without worry.

The OpenRun are also a lot cheaper than the OpenRun Pro 2, so if you’re just dipping your toes in bone-conduction waters, they’re a great-value entry point.

Shokz OpenDots One

  • 180-day average price on Amazon: £166
The Shokz OpenDots One being worn

I awarded the Shokz OpenDots One five stars and our Recommended award last year, and recently dug them back out to test them alongside the brand’s two new clip-on earbuds, the Shokz OpenDots 2 and Shokz OpenDots Air. The former have fast become my new favourite clip-on buds, but sadly, they’re not on offer during Prime Day.

The OpenDots One are, and their current price brings them into line with the entry-level Air. But you’re getting more bang for your buck here. There’s wireless charging, support for Dolby Audio, which makes a noticeable difference to sound quality, and the OpenDots One have slightly better battery life, too. The only areas in which they lose out to the Air are water resistance (IP54 vs IP55) and weight, though I’ve not noticed the 0.2g difference.

There’s just one caveat to my recommendation of these buds for daily use: if your days involve a lot of commuting or time spent in noisy environments, they’re not the earbuds for you. The environmental awareness their open-ear fit offers is awesome in a whole range of situations, but it’s not much fun when you’re struggling to listen to a podcast in a packed and egregiously loud London Underground carriage.

The three options above are the Shokz Prime Day headphones deals I’d personally go for, but below you can see what else is on offer:
