Lifeproof Nuud Case for iPad review
Lifeproof’s Nuud iPad case is designed to allow iPad use in places where you ordinarily wouldn’t dare use it, such as outside in poor weather, around a busy pool while on holiday and when undertaking arduous outdoor pursuits. Lifeproof says the Nuud is waterproof and shockproof.
The Nuud is a fully sealed unit with only the iPad’s screen being exposed to the elements. The Nuud’s waterproof to just over six foot, and you must submerge the Nuud case underwater for three minutes, without the iPad, to ensure it is waterproof before first use. It needs to be watertight so that dirt, sludge and other particles can’t get in there.
Installing the iPad is fiddly, and the case adds extra size and weight to the iPad, but not much considering the protection it provides. The iPad’s camera lens is protected by a glass lens, you plug the headphones in to a special adaptor, and the charge port is protected by a plastic flap.
The Nuud case has its own external Home button that connects with the iPad’s own Home button. You can press all the iPad’s buttons through rubber buttons on the exterior of the case, so you aren’t impeded in any way.
It’s a bit expensive, but the Nuud case affords your iPad enough protection to give you greater confidence when using your iPad outside. If you want that extra peace of mind, it’s a good buy.
