It's a brilliant choice if you're on a tight budget, but for a little more money you can buy a better model.

The Cooler Master Hyper TX 3 cooler is cheap at £14. It's a relatively compact tower cooler with a large 92mm fan, but only three heatpipes. Nevertheless it managed to keep our processor cool at reasonably low fan speeds. When the processor was idle, the fan ran at 993rpm and the processor's temperature was just 23C. When the processor was under load, the fan ran at a relatively high 1,962rpm, but the processor was kept cool at 45C.
When the processor was idle, the Hyper TX 3's fan was very quiet. It was louder when the processor put under load, producing a high pitched whirring sound, but it's not loud enough to be intrusive or irritating.
Fitting the Hyper TX 3 was straightforward. If you're using it with an Intel 1156 or 775 cooler, you'll need to screw on the appropriate fittings, which is a little fiddly due to the eight, small screws.
The Cooler Master Hyper TX 3 is a good fan, but even better ones are available for only a little more money. If you're on a budget though, it's a good choice.
