Logitech Cordless Desktop S520 review
Verdict:
It might not look like much, but the responsive keyboard is one of the most comfortable to type on. At this price we wish a slightly better mouse was supplied.

With its large, grey wrist rest, the Cordless Desktop S520's keyboard isn't the most aesthetically pleasing model that we've ever seen. Performance is always more important than looks, and the keyboard didn't let us down. The main keys are all very comfortable to type on with plenty of feedback. As they're quiet, touch typing at speed is a pleasure.
The calculator and power shortcut buttons sit above the numeric keypad, while a further nine buttons for media control are found along the wrist rest. Like the other keyboards on test that follow a similar design, we'd prefer to see these short cut keys in a more accessible position.
As with HP's Comfort Desktop, Logitech has opted not to include a Context key. Of course, it's not a huge problem if you rarely it, but it's a slightly odd omission.
The symmetrical scroll-wheel mouse supplied with the keyboard is adequate, but basic. It's fine for basic Windows use, but you're likely to want to upgrade it if you're heavy computer user or play a lot of games. This set is great value, but if you can stretch your budget, Logitech's Cordless Desktop Wave set is even better.
