Cherry B.Unlimited review
Verdict:
A comfortable, rechargeable slimline keyboard and mouse set that's slightly let down by a basic optical mouse and relatively high price.

Our Rating
The keyboard with the B.Unlimited set, is a slimline laptop-style model, with flat keys. They're not to everyone's taste, but this is a very good model with responsive keys that are quick and comfortable to type on. The keys make a distinct noise as you type, but it's not massively annoying even when typing at speed. There are only four shortcut keys (for common applications, such as mail, and to lock your computer), but none for controlling media.
Both the keyboard and mouse have exceptionally small screws holding their battery covers in place, which makes them difficult to get at. However, both can be charged using the included USB cable and Cherry preinstalls rechargeable batteries. As you can use both with the cables attached, you'll never be without your peripherals.
The optical mouse isn't as sensitive as modern laser mice and doesn't work well on shiny surfaces. Stick it on a mouse matt, though, and it's more than fine for Windows use.
The low-profile keyboard won't suit everyone and the mouse could be improved on, but otherwise this is a decent set from Cherry. However given that it lacks a laser mouse and only has a small selection of short cut keys, we'd like to see it a bit cheaper. Logitech's Cordless Desktop Wave is better value.
