Samsung S24C570HL review

The monitor’s contrast levels were good. We recorded a contrast ratio of 1,121:1 before calibration and we were able to see a good level of detail in all of our test photos, but the blue cloud we spotted in our solid black test had a big impact on our high contrast image photos. It not only affected the colour reproduction of our images, it also made it difficult to see areas of fine shadow detail in the affected corner.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to improve this using the monitor’s menu settings. Instead of having multiple buttons grouped along the front of the lower bezel, the S24C570HL has a single multi-directional button in the centre underneath the bezel. It’s not quite as intuitive as individual buttons, but pushing it in different directions gives you instant access to the menu, source input, auto settings and lets you turn the monitor on and off.

The Samsung S24C570HL is certainly one of the smarter-looking monitors in this size, but it’s also expensive. We’d recommend the Best Buy award-winning BenQ BL2410PT instead.
