Apple Watch 4 sees MASSIVE price cut in UK Black Friday deal

Apple Watch Series 4 deal sees price cut by £100

The Apple Watch 4 is one of those gadgets that’s reassuringly expensive. But in this Black Friday deal, Amazon has fired its discount gun at the Apple Watch Series 4 and knocked £100 off the price.

Both the 40mm and 44mm models of the Apple Watch Series 4 have the discount, with the former costing £300 and the latter setting you back £329. The GPS model, rather than the 4G watch, has had the £100 saving on all four colours for a few days now – “Space Grey”, “Pink Sand”, white and “Seashell” – with either the Sport Band or Sport Loop watch strap.

Today, Amazon has slashed the price of the 44mm cellular version of the watch to £543.20 – still a substantial price, but by far the lowest price we’ve seen for this watch, which was previously retailing at £602.99.

There are cheaper smartwatches around, notably the Garmin Vivoactive 3, which you can get for £148 as part of Currys PC World’s pre-Black Friday bonanza. But that watch is rather fitness tracking orientated, while the Apple Watch is very much a perfect companion to an iPhone and comes with a suite of extra features, notably the ability to perform a full electrocardiogram (ECG) test. Handy if you’re into monitoring the health of your heart.

The Apple Watch Series 3 has also been reduced to £185 at Amazon today.

The fourth-generation Apple Watch has now been surpassed by the Apple Watch Series 5. But that watch is more expensive and not likely to see a discount until next year. But the Apple Watch Series 5 isn’t a massive upgrade over its predecessor so, if you don’t mind forgoing an always-on display and a built-in compass, the Apple Watch Series 4 could be for you.

It’s worth noting that it will get Apple’s latest watchOS 6, so it’ll benefit from the software features that were shown off when the fifth-generation Apple Watch launched. And £300 for the Apple Watch Series 4 is a pretty compelling deal if you’ve been holding out on snapping up Apple’s smartwatch.
