Prime Video Black Friday deals sees hundreds of cheap films and 99p channel subscriptions

Watch hundreds of films and shows on Shudder, BFI Player, MGM, Lionsgate+ and other Prime Video channels for less than £1

It’s cold out and money’s too tight to mention, so here’s good news: as part of its Black Friday bargain bonanza, Amazon has slashed the prices of Prime Video channels including BFI Player and Lionsgate+ by up to 80% to just 99p per month.

Shudder and MGM are also included in the deal, which lets Prime members subscribe to a movie channel for 99p/mth for three months. But hurry, because this deal vanishes on the dot of midnight on Black Friday…. which [checks watch] only gives you a few hours!

Lionsgate+ is the best bargain of the lot, because it normally costs £5.99/mth – so you stand to save £15 across the three-month promotion. The channel is the place to come for brilliant modern drama series such as The Act, Harlots and The Capture, plus films such as La La Land and Little Women.

Horror streaming service Shudder also saves you a fair chunk, because it’s normally £4.99/mth (save £12 overall). It hosts a huge catalogue of classic and modern films, including Lady Vengeance, Witchfinder General and Battle Royale.

BFI Player would also normally set you back £4.99/mth (save £12 overall) and is home to classic films, indie gems and superb documentaries, with highlights including Suspiria, Ghost World and Wings of Desire.

MGM usually costs £4.49/mth (save £10.50 overall) and offers Hollywood hits new and old, including 21 Jump Street, Carrie, The Usual Suspects and many more.

Amazon’s Prime Video price-cutting also extends to movie downloads, with dozens of films now just £3.99 to buy. These bargains include recent must-sees such as Knives Out, A Quiet Place and Rocketman, along with modern classics and all-time greats such as Kes and Some Like it Hot.

There are some fab hidden gems in the £3.99 line-up, too. La Haine, Somewhere in Time and Steven Spielberg’s debut Duel aren’t always easy to find online, let alone cheap, so grab them while you can.

Now for the small print: these offers are only available to Prime members, and will expire after Black Friday (today, 25 November). Subscriptions will automatically renew at the normal price after the promotional period, so set yourself a reminder to switch off the default auto-renew function after three months.
