Save a whopping £300 on the Google Pixel Slate and keyboard

Currys PC World has discounted the 12.3in Google Pixel Slate bundle, which includes the 2-in-1 tablet and keyboard

This is one of the better offers we’ve seen in the early Black Friday deals and, if you’re in the market for a cheap-ish tablet, you need to get in on this quick.

Currys PC World is selling the 12.3in Google Pixel Slate bundle, which includes the 2-in-1 tablet with 128GB of storage in Midnight Blue and the compatible Google Pixel Slate keyboard, for £669.

This is £300 cheaper than Curry PC World’s previous bundle price and a staggering £630 cheaper than the equivalent on Amazon.

It is possible to buy the Google Pixel Slate on its own from Amazon for £669, but you’ll need to pay £189 to purchase the keyboard separately, representing a total cost of £858.

As a result, the Currys PC World deal is currently the best we can find for this 2-in-1.

Other specifications include a Quad HD and an Intel Core i5 processor powered by 8GB of RAM. The Pixel Slate runs on Chrome OS and has a 12-hour battery life, and it also comes with a fingerprint scanner and an 8MP camera.

It differs from a traditional laptop/2-in-1 setup because Chrome OS runs web-based apps. The plus side is that everything is stored in the cloud, meaning every change you make is saved automatically. The downside is you can’t use it without a web connection. Well, technically you can but the changes won’t save until you’re back online.

In his Google Pixel Slate review, reviews editor Jon Bray described the 12.3in Chromebook as “gorgeous”, despite a number of flaws, and bemoaned its high price, adding: “If Google had just set the price around £200 lower I’d be more forgiving.”
