For Honor is Ubisoft’s new 4v4 online multiplayer game

For Honor

Play as Vikings, Knights and Samurai in Ubisoft's brand new online team-based multiplayer game

Ubisoft had plenty of returning favourites to showcase at this year’s E3 press conference, but it also revealed a slew of brand new titles, first and foremost of which is new IP, For Honor.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, For Honor sees three classic warrior classes duke it out for supremacy in 4v4 online multiplayer battles. With Vikings, Knights and Samurai to choose from, this is a battle of truly historic proportions. Of course, each faction has their own strengths and weaknesses. For instance, Knights will be focusing on their armour and weapons while Vikings like to get up close and personal with a more enthusiastic kind of brawling. Samurai, meanwhile, are fast precision characters, getting the job done in as few moves as possible as their poor defences mean they can’t take many hits in return.

However, there will also be individual heroes to choose from within those factions. You’ll still use the same weapons, but you’ll be able to customise your heroes and take them forward into battle. As well as other players, you’ll be accompanied by an army of AI characters to help you achieve your objectives.

During its E3 gameplay trailer, Ubisoft showed off Dominion mode, where two teams of four try to dominate the battlefield by taking charge of three strategic control zones. Battles can either take place with a free roaming camera, or you can lock on to specific players to enter a more controlled style of fighting. Attacking and defending are both tied to the right analogue stick, and tilting it left, right or forwards will dictate where you attack from and which side of your body you can defend.

Ubisoft didn’t annoucne a release date for For Honor, but you can register for the beta right now by visiting forhonorgame.com
