Amazon has cut £20 off the price making the Labo kit an easy impulse buy
If you have kids to entertain this Xmas or love getting creative yourself, then Amazon is offering the Nintendo Labo: Vehicle Kit for the Nintendo Switch for £15. That’s a saving of £20, with Amazon reducing the price from £35.
As a quick recap for those who don’t know, Nintendo Labo is a combination of cardboard accessories called Toy-Cons and games that are used in conjunction with them. But Toy-Cons have to be assembled out of flatpack cardboard, thus introducing an element of physical creativity into Switch gaming. Just keep in mind that some kits can take up to five hours to build.
With the Labo: Vehicle Kit you get a five cardboard models to assemble, or to challenge your kids to make. The main one is a steering wheel Toy-Con, which can be used in conjunction with the pedal Toy-Con to control a driving game included with the kit. It’s also compatible with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
“You’ll be whizzing about the place in a virtual car in an open world with all sorts of terrain, from snow-capped mountains to deep canyons,” our Mobile Technology Editor Nathan Spendlow said when he gave the Labo: Vehicle Kit a whirl.
The submarine Toy-Con, on the other hand, allows players to control a submarine game. And the plane Toy-Con is used to control a plane game. Completing the kit is the key Toy-Con, which is used to hold a switch Joy-Con controller that’s used with the other four Toy-Cons.
As such, the Labo: Vehicle Kit has plenty to keep you or your children busy over the Xmas holidays. You will need a Nintendo Switch console, but handily we have a list of the best Nintendo Switch deals to be found in the UK. Just bear in mind, the Labo: Vehicle Kit, and indeed other Labo kits, won’t work with Nintendo’s Switch Lite.
