The Nintendo Switch is the cheapest it’s ever been on Amazon

The base Nintendo Switch is cheaper than ever at just £252

It may only be by a few pennies, but the Nintendo Switch has fallen to its lowest-ever price on Amazon during the online retail giant’s Spring Sale.

You can currently pick up the Neon Red/Neon Blue model for £252, which is £7 cheaper than you’ll find it anywhere else online.

Despite having been superseded by the Nintendo Switch OLED, the base Switch remains a brilliant choice for young gamers and those wanting a console they can play both at home and on the go. It can be hooked up to a TV or monitor and used while charging in its dock or played in handheld mode just about anywhere – versatility no other modern console can match.

It’s one of the best-selling consoles of all time and for good reason – the hybrid nature of its offering is a huge draw and its exclusive titles feature some of the most iconic characters ever to grace video games. Mario, Luigi, Link and Zelda are some of the best-known among them, but Switch is the only place to play new games in beloved series like Pokemon and Metroid, too.

When it comes to graphics and processing power, the Switch is way behind the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but those next-gen behemoths are significantly more expensive and don’t have the hybrid functionality of Nintendo’s award-winning handheld.

If you don’t already own a Switch, now’s the perfect time to join over 122 million people by buying one. There’s a small but rare discount available and you have a huge catalogue of games to choose from, along with some surefire classics to look forward to.

Metroid Prime Remastered recently released to critical acclaim, Minecraft Legends is set to debut in mid-April, while 12 May sees The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom finally released over six years after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is widely considered to be one of the greatest games ever made.
