You don’t often see a laptop deal this good, even on Black Friday. The Razer Book 13 — one of our favourite ultraportable productivity laptops — has had a monstrous £540 shaved off its regular price.
Razer is better known for its slim gaming laptops but this year it has branched out and the Razer Book has been widely lauded for its usability, slim good looks, its performance and its display. It’s a truly wondrous machine to work on and it’s beautifully well made.
When we wrote our review of the Razer Book 13 earlier in 2021, we said that Razer had “hit the ultraportable bullseye with its first throw” and that it was “an outstanding first attempt at a productivity machine by Razer”.
For only £711 you’re certainly getting a very impressive specification — an 11th-gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a generous 256GB SSD — and it’s all wrapped up in a premium chassis that wouldn’t look out of place on a laptop costing three times as much.
Note that this isn’t the model that comes with a 4K display. However, at this size, the resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 is perfectly acceptable and as sharp as you need. It’s also highly accomplished, technically speaking, reaching impressive levels of brightness — high enough to be able to use outside on a sunny day — great contrast and superb colour accuracy. This is a laptop that’s as good at professional photo editing as it is for watching Netflix on the go.
