Pick up a Google Home Mini at Argos a ridiculously low price
There’s currently 20% off Google’s tiny smart speaker
As smart speakers go, the Google Home Mini is among the best. This diminutive domestic voice assistant gives Amazon’s Echo Dot a run for its money by packing the Google Assistant into a home-friendly box that’s remarkably stylish.
Right now, you can get your hands on one for a paltry £29, thanks to an Argos deal. Google’s smallest smart speaker usually costs £49, which means you’re saving £20 on a product that will turn your home into a high-tech living space.
For the uninitiated, smart speakers offer a multitude of practical applications. They can read you the weather or news reports and play your favourite songs with a word; they can let you control your heating, TV or lights without ever needing to lift a finger.
The Google Home Mini is the smaller sibling of the regular Google Home smart speaker. A very smart fabric casing houses a small 360-degree speaker, as well as four LEDs that let you know the Home Mini is working. Setup is simple, and activation requires no more than a quick “OK, Google”. As our review points out, the Home Mini also works particularly well with other Google devices, particularly the elusive Chromecast.

Although it performs the same functions as the Google Home for £80 less, because of the size of the Home Mini – and its commensurately tiddly speaker – we would recommend that you don’t rely on it as an audio device. The miniature smart speaker is however a perfect gateway into the world of domestic voice assistants.
For £29, there’s all the more reason to banish that uncertainty and give smart speakers a try. The Google Home Mini is on sale at Argos, for the foreseeable future.
