Amazon is celebrating Prime Day by slashing the price of its own-brand devices – here are the best Echo deals
Amazon Prime Day has rolled around again and, as ever, offers on Amazon products are particularly generous. While the Fire TV Stick and Kindle are also being slashed in the sales, we’re particularly interested in the range of savings to be had on the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus and Echo Show.
Take the Amazon Echo 2, which is getting a whopping £35 cull in the Prime Day sales, bringing it down from its RRP of £90 to an eminently reasonable £55. Our original review of the Echo 2 was particularly glowing: we gave it five stars thanks to its smaller redesign and new Alexa features. Plus, one of our big plus points – that it was cheaper than the original – has been enhanced further thanks to the Amazon Prime Day sales.
If you’re in the market for an entry-level smart speaker, this fantastic all-rounder from Amazon is a great option for you. While its hardware doesn’t vary extraordinarily from the first iteration of Amazon Echo, its pared-down design and high functionality make it a five-star choice. With well over a third off its RRP for a limited time only in the Prime Day sale, now is the perfect chance to snap one up and make smart speakers an integral – and indispensable – part of your home.
Meanwhile, shoppers looking for a smaller or larger or showier Echo are also quids in: Amazon is slashing prices along the whole Echo line.
The Echo Dot (3rd Gen) is now less than half price this Prime Day, with a discount of £28 making it just £22. Its bigger brother, the Echo Plus (2nd Gen), has received a tidy £40 off, bringing it under the £100 mark by the skin of its teeth (£99.99).
As for its video-screened sibling, the Echo Show (2nd Gen), a hefty £60 saving sees its price tag brought down from £220 to an altogether more palatable £160.
If you’re scouting for bundles, Echo Dot products crop up in a fair few this year: shoppers can snap up a 3rd Gen Echo Dot and Amazon smart plug for just £32, with savings of £43 from a retail price hovering around the £75 mark. Meanwhile, the same Echo Dot is also paired with a Philips Hue White Starter Set at just £52 – less than half of its regularly-scheduled-programme price of £110.
As ever, it being Amazon Prime Day, these offers and deals are only available to Prime customers. Joining never been easier – or more prudent, what with Prime Day ongoing: sign up here for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime today.
