This Ticwatch Pro deal is amazing value (and you get a free spare charger)

£40 off and never worry about losing your charger again

The Ticwatch Pro, Mobvoi’s top-of-the-range (but still cheap) smartwatch has a rather tempting discount on it right now at Amazon.

Not only can you get the watch for £154.18 instead of its usual £229.99, but the company will throw in a free spare charger worth £22.

Getting that price (and freebie) is marginally harder than just following the link and adding it to the basket. Insteady, you have to tick the box labeled “Apply GBP40.00 voucher”, and then open up the promotion window a line below it. The bits labeled in the screenshot below.
On paper, the Ticwatch Pro is an excellent Wear OS smartwatch. It’s competitively price, with an excellent build quality and a 30-day battery life thanks to a clever hybrid screen that keeps smartwatch and basic time telling functions separate. It has NFC for contactless payments, and GPS for phone-free run tracking, so what’s the catch?

Well, it’s not the speediest smartwatch around.

“The result is a smartwatch that’s not only packed with features, including built-in GPS and an optical heart rate monitor, but also looks and feels luxurious,” wrote Ed in our review. “Consider that it has NFC support and innovative dual-screen functionality and you’d expect to be looking a watch that’s utterly irresistible, especially at £220.

“However, Mobvoi has stumbled on one crucial point: performance. Although the Ticwatch Pro has a more widely recognised chipset, it runs painfully slowly at times, with even the cheaper Ticwatch E and S doing the basics much faster.”

Anecdotally, we’ve heard talk of improved performance by disabling animations, but we haven’t tried that in the office, so consider this a “buyer beware” situation.

But even if it doesn’t improve things, we’d have struggled not to recommend the Ticwatch Pro at £155 – even if it was sometimes a little on the sluggish side.
