Buy this Apple Watch Series 3 for only £179 on Cyber Monday
It's no longer the newest, but the Apple Watch Series 3 remains an excellent wearable
Currys PC World has clipped £16 from the price of the Apple Watch Series 3, bringing it down to £179 as part of the retailer’s Cyber Monday offerings.
It’s a modest reduction, but it does make one of Apple’s cheaper smartwatches more affordable ahead of the holiday season. The Series 3 is a little long in the tooth – the latest Apple Watch is the Series 6 – but given that prices begin at £379 for that model, you’d be spending substantially less for what remains an excellent wearable.
When we reviewed the Series 3 at its release, we gave it five stars and called it “the best smartwatch you can buy… and for most people the best all-round fitness tracker as well.”
The deal at Currys PC World is available with either black or white colouring, and comes with in-built GPS and a range of health and fitness tracking features. It’s powered by Apple’s S3 dual-core processor and has a battery life that lasts up to 18 hours.
“The Series 3 is pretty much identical in design to the Series 2, with Apple mining the same sleek, mini-iPhone aesthetic for the watch’s body,” we wrote in our review. “Apple has kept the size of its watch consistent even though it adds a new dual-core processor and LTE connectivity, cleverly using the main display as an antenna. Taps and swipes on the screen feel responsive, as do twiddles and presses on the Digital Crown and side button.”
All-in-all, it may not have some of the features that later variants boast – there’s limited sleep tracking and no SpO2 measurements, for example – but it still holds its own and looks pretty much identical to the newer Apple Watches.
