Quick! Save £100 on the Cellular Apple Watch Series 4

Apple products are rarely discounted, so act move quickly if you want a new wearable

If you have an iPhone, there’s really no choice when it comes to an accompanying smartwatch. You need an Apple Watch, but Apple Watches don’t come cheap – especially if you want the latest Series 4 model with its bigger screen and extra bells and whistles.

Right now on Amazon, you can buy the cellular Apple Watch Series 4 £399. No, that’s still not cheap, but considering it usually goes for £499, that’s a very decent 20% saving. In fact, it’s the same price that Amazon is charging for the Bluetooth-only model.

That kind of discount could be a misprice, so you’ll want to act quickly if you’re interested. Frankly, I’m not confident I’ll get to the end of this write-up before it goes out of stock.

But why would you want the cellular version over the (usually) cheaper Bluetooth-only model? Well, it comes down to freedom: assuming you’re on Vodafone or EE (sorry Three and O2 users), you’re able to make calls, send messages and even stream music without your phone.

That’s chiefly of appeal to runners that want to jog independent of their phones, of course, and the Apple Watch Series 4 is a particularly good accessory if that describes you. With built-in GPS and heart-rate tracking, the Apple Watch is a good way of tracking your times, performance and general fitness. And unlike some dedicated running watches I could mention, it’s also smart enough to wear with a suit and tie.

As Jon wrote in his review, the fact that it’s twice as fast as its predecessor and has a bigger screen makes it an easy recommendation. “The only reason to put off buying the Apple Watch 4 is its predictably high price tag,” he concluded.

At £399, the cellular Apple Watch 4 is still a big outlay, but it’s definitely easier to justify.
