The Polar Vantage M is nearly £100 off for Prime Day

The Garmin rival is nearly £100 off for Prime Day

When you think of running watches, you may immediately head to the Garmin page on Amazon, but it’s worth looking elsewhere for Prime Day. In particular, the Polar Vantage M – a mid-range GPS running watch that usually sells for £250 – is currently up for grabs for just £152.18.

No, I don’t know why it’s such a strange price – either Amazon has decided it really needs that extra £2.18 or the algorithms have decided that this is the bite point – but it is a very good price. Of course, it’s only available for Prime subscribers, for two days only.

I personally reviewed the Polar Vantage M and was quietly impressed with it, seeing it as a solid advancement on my previous go-to running watch, the Polar M430. It’s got GPS, a heart-rate monitor and plenty of nice built-in extras like measuring your training and telling you if you’re overdoing it. Most pleasingly of all, it looks a lot more stylish than past Polar efforts, and is one you can wear beyond race day.

Weirdly, I actually found it a better performer than its more expensive £450 sibling, the Vantage V, which had GPS tracking that was so disappointing I could only give it two stars. Not so the Vantage M, though, which performed beyond its price tag. And now with nearly £100 off, it’s a very easy recommendation to make.

If you do have your heard set on a Garmin, however, then Prime Day has plenty of bargains there, too. The Garmin Vivoactive 3, for example, is currently going for £130
