The W880i is the second Walkman phone in the group. It's much flashier than the W200i, but it's also far more expensive.

This is a gorgeous phone. It's less than a centimetre thick, and its brushed metal keyboard and screen surround look stylish and expensive. Its keypad is unusual but easy to use. The number keys are thin strips of metal rather than buttons, and are spaced so far apart that you're unlikely to hit the wrong button when dialling or texting.

The W880i's 240x320 screen is similar to the K770i's and K800i's, and is just as bright and clear. Its menu layout is also like the K800i's, with the same colourful icons and a similar selection of programs. The W880i works well as a music player. As with the W200i, you can drop music files on to the memory card in Windows, or use the Disc2Phone software to transfer music from CD. The phone comes with a 1GB memory card, which can store around 250 songs. The supplied headphones are far better than the W200i's. They plug into your ear to block outside noise and sound bassy and clear, if a little bright. You can also plug your own headphones into the supplied adaptor.

The W880i is a stylish phone and a superb music player, but it's pricy. We'd sacrifice some style and buy the W200i plus replacement headphones and a larger memory stick.
