The Surface Pro 6 is £200 off at the Microsoft Store

Microsoft’s beautiful 2-in-1 PC can be had for £784

Microsoft has slashes up to £200 off the price of its brilliant line of Surface Pro 6 devices. You can now buy the entry-level Surface Pro 6 for £784, which comes with an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

That model usually goes for £879, but you can get bigger savings if you prefer a beefier configuration. Doubling the internal storage to 256GB gives a saving of £200, coming in at £949 – although given the Surface Pro 6 has a microSD card slot, you might consider the upgrade a touch superfluous.

What isn’t superfluous is putting in more RAM or a faster processor. The Core i7 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is £1,229 (down £200) while the same i7 processor with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is £1,599 (also down £200). The top-of-the-range i7 model with 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage will set you back £1,949 – yet again, a £200 reduction from its normal £2,149 price.

Of course, none of these come with the £125 Type Cover or the £100 Surface Pen. If you want to get them, I’d recommend Amazon where you can bag the former for £94.05 and the latter for £75. A Type Cover is kind of essential, but the Surface Pen – lovely as it is for doodles and annotations – is definitely optional.

Whatever configuration you decide to buy, the Surface Pro 6 is a wonderful convertible. As Tom wrote in his review: “For those in search of a 2-in-1 laptop that’s both stylish and speedy, the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is a safe bet.” The price was the main drawback, and with up to £200 off, that’s not quite as big a problem as before.
