Dyson’s new top-of-the-range vacuum cleaner is packed with features to help detect hard-to-see particles and get proof of a deep clean

Vacuum cleaners have been helping us clean our homes for more than 100 years, so you could be forgiven for thinking they’re all the same. However, recent years have seen an acceleration of technological developments, and the new Dyson V15 Detect™ is at the forefront of this new wave of innovation.

Laser-focused cleaning

The most spectacular new development on the V15 Detect™ is its Laser Detect Technology. A precisely angled laser in the Laser Slim Fluffy™ cleaner head makes invisible dust visible on hard floors, highlighting dust and particles that you otherwise wouldn’t know were there.¹

The laser shows you exactly where you need to clean and helps you deep-clean your home like never before.

Piezo sensor

That’s not the only new technology included on the Dyson V15 Detect™. Cleverly, it’s also able to automatically adjust its suction power and give you proof of a deep clean.²

The vacuum has a piezo sensor that continuously sizes and counts dust particles. Depending on how many particles the vacuum detects, it automatically increases suction power where needed.

On the top of the vacuum’s handle, there’s an LCD screen that shows the particle count as you clean. It’s displayed as a colourful bar chart, with the different bars showing different sizes of particles, ranging from 500 microns right down to less than ten microns.

Particles as small as 500 microns (such as sugar) are tracked on a purple bar. Dust mites and other particles that measure anything down to 180 microns are represented by a pink bar, while an orange bar tracks particles of microscopic dust or similar that measure as small as 60 microns. Anything down to ten microns in size – including allergens such as pollen – is represented by a yellow bar.

The screen is also used to control the vacuum’s power settings, with the choice between Auto, Eco and Boost. An estimation of how long the battery will keep the vacuum running for is displayed in minutes and seconds, keeping you informed of how much cleaning time you have left on whichever power setting you choose.

So, with a laser that reveals dirt and a reactive suction power to deal with it, combined with the evidence on the screen, you get a new and efficient way to clean.

Effective cleaning for any surface

The V15 Detect™ comes equipped with two motorised floor heads, each designed to tackle different surfaces: the Laser Slim Fluffy™ cleaner head is designed to pick up dirt from hard floors, while the High Torque cleaner head with anti-tangle technology removes ground-in dirt from carpets.

Whole-machine filtration

There are five stages of filtering in the V15 Detect, from the main metal mesh filter, which keeps particles larger than 250 microns in the waste bin, to the post-motor filter, which is used to trap 99.99% of tiny particles up to 0.3 microns in size.³

Powerful battery

The Dyson V15 Detect™ has seven individual cells powering cleaning for up to 60 minutes in the Eco mode.⁴

When it’s time to charge, it couldn’t be easier: simply plug the charging cable into the vacuum. You can remove the battery first if you’d rather put the vacuum away while it’s charging. Dyson also supplies a dock, which can be screwed into a wall and lets you simultaneously charge and store the V15 between uses.

With all these features and its award-winning performance, Dyson’s new V15 Detect™ is a top-of-the-range vacuum cleaner. Treat yourself to its cleaning prowess and we doubt you’ll look back.

Notes

¹ Laser engineered for hard floors. Effectiveness of laser influenced by ambient light conditions, debris type and surface.
² Best accuracy achieved in Auto mode. Auto ramp feature in Auto mode only. Testing based on average in-home usage according to Dyson internal test data. Microscopic dust is defined as particles less than 100 microns.
³ Filtration tested against EN60312-1 CL 5.11 in Boost mode.
⁴ Applies in Eco mode on hard floor. Actual runtime will vary based on power mode, floor type and/or attachments used.
