Amazon’s 47% discount on its newest Fire HD hammers the price down from £150 to just £79.99. We expect these snappy, lightweight tablets to disappear like fiery HD hot cakes, so get on this deal fast!
Why did we think the Fire HD 10 was a great buy, even at its full £150 price? We loved its zippy speed and fantastic battery life (19 hours when playing a looped video!), and thought its full HD 10.1in screen and Dolby Atmos audio were ideal for watching video on the go, although not up to full eye-popping HDR quality.
The tablet runs Amazon’s Fire OS Android overlay, and comes with Amazon’s App Store and Alexa voice assistant pre-installed. There’s also a microSD expansion slot to take capacity up to 1TB.
The Fire HD can’t match any iPads in the design stakes, but it’s a fraction of their price, especially now. Its 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras are fine, and the 465g weight and rugged feel make it ideal for lugging about on journeys.
