How to watch UFC 248: Adesanya vs Romero

Two UFC World Championships are on the line at UFC 248 in Las Vegas on Saturday

UFC 248 will see two World title fights as undefeated fighter Israel Adesanya defends his World Middleweight Championship against Yoel Romero this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This title bout will be preceded by Zhang Weili, who is aiming to defend her World Women’s Strawweight Championship against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Unlike earlier UFC events, UFC 248 is not a pay-per-view event and will be aired on BT Sport 2 in the UK. If you live in the US, you’ll need ESPN+ to watch it.

This will be the first time that both Adesanya and Weili will be defending their newly-won championship belts. Adesanya won his belt by defeating Robert Whittaker in under four minutes at UFC 243 in October last year, while Weili defeated Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night a few months earlier.

Both in Cuba, Israel Adesanya is an Olympic silver medallist and was voted Fighter of the Year 2019, something he’ll be hoping to repeat and live up to this year. Meanwhile, Zhang Weili is the first Chinese born champion in UFC history and has won her last 20 fights in a row after a debut loss.

Adesanya’s opponent Yoel Romero will be hoping to put an end to his back-to-back loss record. Weili’s opponent Joanna Jedrzejczyk has the most title defences in UFC history and is aiming to become the first two-time UFC Strawweight champion, but she too has lost three of her last five fights.

How to watch UFC 248: Adesanya vs Romero abroad – use a good VPN service

Both BT Sport 2 and ESPN+ block their UFC 248 coverage outside of the US and UK respectively, meaning you won’t be able to watch whether Adesanya maintains his flawless record in the Octagon if you’re away from either of the countries on Saturday/Sunday unless you use a reputed virtual private network, or VPN.

These services not only encrypt all your traffic as you browse the web but also let you access geo-blocked content.
