Amazon has carved a cool 47% off the price of the highly commended Nespresso Vertuo Next
The recent winner of a Highly Commended gong in our Home Product of the Year Awards 2021, the Nespresso Vertuo Next dishes out consistently creamy capsule coffee at a now-unbeatable price of £79. Initially retailing at £150, and settling at an average of £135 for the past few months, the Vertuo Next hasn’t dipped as low as £79 since Black Friday 2020.
Unlike many pod machines, it uses centrifugal force to deliver smooth long coffees, but it can also serve up everything from a classic, 40ml espresso to 414ml Alto that should satisfy even the most demanding caffeine fiend. No wonder we gave it yet another award in our full review.
The Vertuo Next doesn’t sacrifice flavour to give you a longer brew: Nespresso’s latest rotund capsules contain more coffee grounds, meaning that even those giant Altos won’t be watery. The company offers 28 different capsule flavours, some of which are designed to be drunk with milk – which brings us to this machine’s only downside. There’s no in-built milk option so you’ll have to buy a separate frother for an extra £50 to whip up your morning cappuccino.
That’s easy to overlook, though, because the Vertuo Next is exceptionally simple to use: open the lever, pop in a pod, close the lever and you’re done. You don’t even need to manually select the size of the coffee as the machine automatically reads a barcode on the capsule and dispenses the correct amount of water. Naturally, you can add more water via a button if need be too.
But that’s not where the smartness ends: not only does the Vertuo Next look great, but you can also check the water supply, reset the machine and update the software via a dedicated app. Similarly, Bluetooth connectivity isn’t likely to convince you to buy the machine alone, but it certainly sweetens the deal.
