Xbox Series S gets RIDICULOUS price drop in Black Friday deal

xbox series s black friday deal

A seriously good deal, this Xbox Series S Black Friday bargain is too good to miss

It’s not often we get an Xbox deal as good as this. Coming as a bit of a shock as part of the Black Friday sales, Microsoft’s Xbox Series S games console is currently cheaper than ever – and by quite some distance, too.

With a price rarely dipping below its RRP of £250, for a limited time only, you can pick up an Xbox Series S console and bundled wireless controller for just £189. That’s about as cheap as you could possibly ask for if you’re on the lookout for a next-gen gaming machine.

Not only that, but if you want to get your friends and family involved in some couch co-op entertainment, then the good news is that a second Xbox wireless controller will only cost you another £35 at Amazon. Like the Series S, this is also the cheapest we’ve seen, falling from an average price of £51.

As for the Xbox Series S itself, Microsoft’s entry-level gaming machine is just the ticket for gamers on a budget. Providing ample horsepower to play the latest and greatest games at 1080p or 1440p resolutions, the Series S is a showcase of Microsoft’s recent gaming strengths. And when paired with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, you’re looking at practically limitless entertainment.

In our review, contributing editor Stuart Andrews also complimented the sleek, compact design as well as the refreshed, snappy user interface. For game performance, he said: “Big Xbox Series X/S exclusives or enhanced titles look fantastic on the Series S, and – to my surprise – still look and feel like a step up from games on the One X.”

There are some tradeoffs with that cheap price, however. Unlike its bigger brother, the Xbox Series X, it’s unable to output (and thus play games) at 4K resolution and it lacks the graphical oomph to play titles at higher frame rates. The Series S also only has a 512GB SSD, so storage can be a bit limited at times.

Outside of these concessions, there’s still an awful lot to like here, especially at this new reduced price. If you’re looking for even more Black Friday deals, we’ve also rounded up the best of the best in one handy place, so you don’t have to spend your time searching for super savings.
