Pebble smartwatch now available in three eye-searing limited edition colours

Pebble new colours

Fresh Green, Hot Pink and Fly Blue colours now available for a limited time, and are guaranteed to draw attention

Just in case owning a smartwatch in the first place wasn’t enough to make you stand out from the crowd, Pebble has announced three limited edition colour choices that are guaranteed to make your wrist the center of attention. The Fresh Green, Hot Pink and Fly Blue colours look blindingly bright, and are basically impossible to miss – ideal for Hoxton types looking to turn heads.

Kickstarter phenomenon Pebble was one of the first modern smartwatches, and some still consider it one of the best thanks to an energy-friendly eInk display and a battery that can last over a week between charges. Compatible with both iOS and Android (after a firmware update in February, almost a year after it first started shipping to customers), Pebble is customisable with different watch faces, apps and notifications and doesn’t cost the earth – a far cry from wearables like the Samsung Gear 2, which barely lasts three days on a single charge, and the Android Wear-powered LG G Watch.

Until now, however, colour choice has been rather limited. Kickstarter backers earned an exclusive orange unit, while regular customers could choose between black, white, red or grey bodies. With the exception of the white model, all Pebble units shipped with a black wrist strap. That isn’t the case with the three limited edition models; as well as a brightly coloured watch body, the rubber wrist strap is also coloured to match. The strap is removable, meaning customers can chop and change to create unique colour combinations.

It may not be as advanced as the Android Wear competition, or as gorgeous as Motorola’s upcoming Moto 360, but the new colourful Pebble watches are a lot more fun, without compromising on basic features. The more serious Pebble Steel is still available too, although it remains limited to black matte or stainless steel colours – no crazy neon combinations here.

All three new colours are available to buy now, for a limited time only, from the official Pebble website. Each colour choice costs $150 – the same price as the existing models.
