Amazon’s Echo Dot is now half price ahead of Prime Day
Prime Day might not be for another few days yet, but Amazon is already flexing its deal muscles
Following the announcement that Prime Day 2019 will run from 15 July to 16 July, Amazon has reduced the price of the Amazon Echo Dot to only £24.99.
Usually priced at £49.99, the third-generation Echo Dot is a compact smart speaker with a built-in AI assistant – better known to you and me as Alexa. It not only plays your favourite music and podcasts but can also give you weather reports or directions, and answer any burning questions you might have. It’ll even control any compatible smart devices you might own, such as Philips Hue bulbs or smart thermostats.
Amazon’s dinky smart speaker has a 1.6mm driver, which produces a surprisingly good sound for its size. For real audiophiles, however, there’s also a 3.5mm output for creating a bigger and better sound system based around the device.
The Echo Dot also has a fun side. You can play games and take quizzes with Alexa, or program the voice assistant to start talking like Pikachu, baby Groot or even Chewbacca – great for the kids and a bit of a laugh for the adults.
Even at full price, the Amazon Echo Dot is still an affordable smart home device but with a whopping 50% off, it’s a steal.
