It's a very expensive way to manage your cables and not particularly attractive, either.

If the cables behind your computer or television look a little like a monster from Day of the Triffids, the Blue Lounge Cable Box might be a quick and easy way to tame them.

It’s basically a large plastic box with a holes in either end: you pick up your multi-way adaptor and drop it in, sticking the cables out of the back.

The box should be large enough for almost any extension lead, plus extra cable lengths and bulky adaptors. The matt black plastic finish isn’t attractive, but is still easier on the eye than a tangled web of wires. A pack of cable ties is included, but are so small they can only tie one or two wires together at once.

The Cable Box might be effective, but even if unruly cables are a big problem it’s almost impossible to justify spending £40 on what’s essentially a large plastic tub. Frustratingly, it only costs $30 to buy direct from the US manufacturer, but shipping costs then add another $22.
