The Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED is a Spring Deals Day bargain at prices even cheaper than when the product launched with introductory offers

  • The new Amazon Fire TV Omni QLEDs were only released in the UK last month.
  • They’re straight upgrades to the 2023 model, which received a five-star rating, boasting big increases in brightness, more dimming zones and faster processors.
  • All three screen sizes (50in, 55in and 65in) are at their lowest-ever prices of £390, £450 and £690.

Amazon’s Fire TV OS is used by some of the best televisions in the business, and its own-brand TVs have been becoming increasingly competitive in recent years.

The original Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED received a glowing review from Stephen Withers back in 2023, and this year’s new model makes some significant improvements to the formula. However, one thing that hasn’t changed is the typically aggressive Amazon pricing.

During the Amazon Spring Sale 2026, which runs until 11.59pm on Monday, 16 March, you can pick up all three screen sizes at a significant discount. And not just on the advertised RRPs, which rarely tell the whole story. Each model is the cheapest it’s ever been, undercutting the already enticing introductory offer prices we saw at launch in February.

That means the 50in screen size will cost you £390 (average price: £637), the 55in model will set you back £450 (average price: £734), and the 65in option is available for £690 (average price: £1,031). I’m an advocate for buying the biggest TV you can afford (and comfortably accommodate in your living space), so I would typically gravitate towards the 65in option, but here I think the 55in wins out on value.

Those prices put it right up there with the best Spring Sale TV deals, especially considering the improvements Amazon claims these updated models make.

Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED: Big upgrades on the 2023 model

Limited brightness was a weak point of the 2023 Fire TV Omni QLED. This time around, the panels are said to be 60% brighter, which should result in far better picture quality, particularly when watching Dolby Vision or HDR10+ HDR content. When we tested the 65in Omni QLED a few years back, it hit peak luminance of 570cd/m2 on a 10% window and 439cd/m2 on a full-field pattern. If we take Amazon at its word, the new models are capable of closer to 1,000cd/m2.That’s still a long way behind the leading Mini LED TVs, but plenty bright enough for most living conditions.

The 2026 Omni QLED is also said to have twice as many dimming zones as its predecessor. More dimming zones don’t guarantee superior image performance, but used well, they can improve contrast, reduce blooming around bright objects, and create deeper blacks to enhance the HDR experience.

The third big upgrade is to the Omni QLED’s processor, which is claimed to be 40% faster. Navigating Fire TV isn’t always the quickest experience, but the new chip should help here. Sadly, it won’t stop the TV from promoting Amazon’s own content above all else, but that’s something we’ve come to expect and learn to live with on Fire TVs.

The panel still has a native refresh rate of 60Hz, so it can’t deliver as satisfying a gaming experience as the more expensive Amazon Fire TV Mini LED. Otherwise, this is a great all-rounder. And at this all-time low price, it’s one of the best bargains available in Amazon’s first deals event of the year.
