As for what format to expect, it’s currently unclear whether Samsung will present the product at a live event, whether the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will just crop up on its website – or something in between. Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in a 20-second teaser video, which also established the arrival of the Galaxy Tab 6 – Samsung’s latest flagship phablet.

For its part, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is expected to come in two different sizes – 40mm and 44mm – with a design not dissimilar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active. That’s not a bad thing, either: we gave the Galaxy Watch Active four stars in our full review, citing its sleek appearance as a big win.

While we await the official reveal, rumours continue to swirl. A SamMobile video appears to show the leaked design of the Galaxy Watch Active 2, suggesting it will have a full-colour, always-on display, and debut in three colours: black, gold and silver.

SamMobile’s analysts were also quick to apprehend a microphone and speaker, suggesting that users will be able to make calls from the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 – and potentially even use Bixby. The leak also revealed a huge heart rate monitor, the feature du jour in current smartwatches, pointing to a high price point.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 to is expected to be a high-spec device, with 1.5GB RAM and 4.5GB of onboard storage. In terms of battery life, it is anticipated that the Wi-Fi model will come equipped with a 237mAh battery, while the LTE and Wi-Fi variant will boast a 340mAh battery.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Samsung – yet. We’re waiting with bated breath to see what the company has in store for the next generation of Galaxy Watch Active and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
