A good-looking budget monitor, but it needs a colour calibrator to help it reach its full potential

23.6in screen size, 1,920×1,080 resolution, DVI: yes, VGA: yes, HDMI:

Its viewing angles were quite narrow, as you’d expect from a TN panel. We didn’t have to move very far horizontally or vertically to see a shift in contrast, and the screen darkened quickly if we weren’t looking at it head-on.

Iiyama Prolite E2481HS

It has VGA, DVI-D and HDMI inputs. The E2481HS supports HDCP, so you can play copy-protected content from your PC or games console. It also has a 3.5mm audio input. The Prolite E2481HS also has two 2W stereo speakers built in to the chassis, but these are fairly basic. YouTube clips sounded tinny, making a pair of headphones or the use of dedicated speakers essential.

The Prolite E2481HS has its fair share of problems, and you must use a colour calibrator to get the best out of it, making it relatively expensive. We recommend the hugely superior Iiyama Prolite E2473HDS instead.
