The BEST gaming monitor deal of Black Friday

Don't miss this exceptional Black Friday gaming monitor deal from Huawei

The Black Friday gaming monitor deals are pouring in, and we’ve spotted a corker. Right now at several retailers, you can snap up a Huawei MateView GT for its lowest-ever price and enjoy ultrawide gaming for an astonishingly low price.

This is the first time the MateView GT has dropped in price since it launched. Initially retailing at £499 (an excellent price for a 34in ultrawide monitor) it has since dropped to £450, and then again to £380 as Huawei’s Black Friday monitor deals event kicked off.

If you’re looking for a gaming monitor to complete your setup and like the idea of an ultrawide panel for under £400, the MateView GT is a no-brainer.

We think the MateView GT is a pretty great monitor, as it happens. We gave it four stars and a Recommended award in our full-length review, praising the colour-accurate panel, upmarket build quality and presence of a USB-C port (a rare find on most gaming monitors). In fact, we went as far as to describe the MateView GT as “the best budget ultrawide monitor [we’ve] come across”.

So what makes the MateView GT worth your money? This is a 34in VA panel with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and a refresh rate of 165Hz. It’s curved, so you’re not going to struggle to keep your heads-up display in view – nor will you have difficulties with viewing angles. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium to help handle screen tearing and has a response time of 4ms G2G.

On top of this strong specifications list, the MateView GT has a few bonus features that help push it out in front of its rivals. Chief among these, as we’ve already mentioned, is a USB-C port that’s capable of supplying 10W of power, transferring files and transmitting video from a connected laptop/tablet/smartphone. Then there’s the built-in soundbar; it’s not the most impressive speaker arrangement we’ve ever come across but it’s still a damn sight better than the sort of built-in speakers you’ll find on most monitors.

Gaming on the MateView GT is a joy, even if the HDR specification is rudimentary, and it’s pretty good for more serious endeavours as well. The extra screen real estate and versatile USB-C port help make this monitor appealing to a much larger audience than simply gamers. Act fast to avoid missing out – this monitor is selling fast.
