Amazon has slashed the price of the noise-cancelling QC Earbuds to an enticing £139. To put that price in perspective, we gave the earbuds five stars and a Recommended award in our full review at their RRP of £250 in October 2020.
That was a while ago now, and we have seen the QuietComfort Earbuds discounted on a few occasions, most notably last Black Friday when you could grab a pair for £170. But this new Prime Day price is the lowest they’ve ever been and a bargain price to pay for what are wonderful in-ear headphones.
So what makes the Bose QuietComfort so great? Well, for starters, their ability to attenuate external sound is without equal. Bose has always been among the industry leaders when it comes to noise cancellation and the QC Earbuds dampen environmental distractions supremely well.
There are 10 levels of cancellation available, ranging from 0 (transparency) to 10 (all-out noise cancellation) and at the upper end of that scale they’ll block out all but the most egregious high-pitched sounds. They lack the adaptive ANC of some of their rivals, but you are able to create three ANC profiles in the Bose companion app and switch between them freely using touch controls.
Those touch controls could be better fleshed out, and battery life could also be a little longer, but the QuietComfort excel in two other key areas alongside ANC: sound quality and comfort.
Their soundstage is expansive and audio is well-balanced, cohesive and detailed no matter what you’re listening to or what volume you’re listening at. Bass lovers may find them slightly too timid but there’s enough low-end impact without it ever getting in the way of other frequencies.
We’ve tested and reviewed a huge number of true wireless earbuds over the past couple of years and very few come close to delivering the same level of audio and ANC performance as the Bose QuietComfort.
